Dr. Lester D.R. Thompson is currently a consultant and general pathologist with Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Woodland Hills. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia Union College (Maryland). He obtained his medical degree and and orthopedic surgery internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He completed a pathology residency at UCLA, with an emphasis in cytopathology. He worked at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology serving as Chief of the Otorhinolaryngic Head & Neck Division of the Department of Endocrine and Otorhinolaryngic-Head and Neck Department, and served as Chief of immunohistochemistry division. He also worked as a Cytopathologist for Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has published 48 book chapters and has well over 200 publications, mostly in the fields of endocrine or head and neck pathology.
